Car Care Tip #11 – Get Educated!

Some of us plan to upgrade their vehicle in the next few months. SAVE yourself future expense and problems and spend some time gathering information. Some of our customer’s heartaches could have been avoided if they would have purchased a different vehicle! Most common mistake in buying a pre-owned vehicle:“It looks clean, the price is right and I REALLY like it…- so I don’t think I need to bother taking the time or money to get my mechanic to take quick look at this beauty!” We have had customers purchase vehicles that have: 1. Water Damage – you have to know where to look for this – it is not obvious to most people 2. Rolled - front driver door and back passenger door just seemed like they need to be adjusted 3. Wrecked - but nothing was on Car Fax and the dealership that sold the vehicle bought it a car auction and there was not any previous history o ... read more

A Birthday Thank You From Nick Sallas

You can imagine my surprise when I realized that Carla was behind the photo in our Coupon Club email that went out on my birthday. I don’t exactly wear half-shirts anymore. I was shocked to say the least. I got so many calls and emails. Not to mention Facebook messages. I caught a lot of heat off of that picture. But in the end, it was really humorous and a good joke. Plus, it was great to hear from so many of you. Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes. The comments about the photo my wife posted were funny. I also wanted say thanks to everyone who brought in canned food for Harvesters. We had a special drive on my birthday for canned food. But as an auto repair shop in KC, we have an ongoing opportunity to bring in food for Harvesters. It gives us an opportunity to help people in need. Last year we fed 2600 families between our Kansas Ci ... read more

Who Says Hybrid Cars Can’t Be Sexy?

We’ve been talking electric vehicles for a couple of posts and even shown you a few that can be in your driveway today. April is National Car Care Month and the Car Care Council reminds motorists to spring into action and follow 10 basic maintenance procedures to make sure their vehicles are running at peak performance for the summer driving season. 1. Check all fluids, including engine oil, power steering, brake and transmission as well as windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant. 2.
